On January 27, 2017 we noticed that our home was broken and the error was evident that it was caused by the DB connectivity. Checking the emails noticed that Media Temple did upgraded PHP to the latest version and which force to use complex passwords for the DB. Since we have not updated our passwords ever since we started our site, we have very loose password. The email from Media Temple had listed two options – roll back PHP to previous version or fix the DB – we choose to fix the DB so that we could have a secure site without any PHP vulnerabilities.
To correct the the DB problem, we updated the password for all DBs we had listed on Media Temple. Since the passwords were changed, we had to update the DB connection from the config files for at the least for the main site and the blog page from the File Manager from the Media Temple Dashboard.
Some of the posts were deleted – Funeral Announcement – Annamma Cherian, Annamma Mathai, Jacob. Some of these were showing on the main page, since there were not many new posts
A new menu added to the top menu section with the name ‘Members Only’.
- If you mouse over, you will see four pages underneath it:
- Member Login
- Church Directory
- Members Only: If you click on the ‘Members Only’ menu from the top menu, a page opens and the intent was list the pages on that page that require member login access.
- Member Login: This will take you to the Member Login page.
- Church Directory: This was under ‘Start Here’ on the top menu
- Give: This was under ‘Start Here’ on the top menu
Originally we have only ‘Meet Our Team’ and both pastor’s information was on the top with the pictures were so big and in the middle of the page. So we took that section and added to a new page called ‘Pastoral Team’.
Instead of using the staff options, using just the page options to include the pictures within the page content, looks better and the pictures are small.
